Heroes of the Lance je jedna z prvých počítačových hier, využívajúca licencované pravidlá AD&D (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons). Hra je založená na prvej kampani Dragonlance z tejto stolnej hry s názvom Dragons of Despair a tiež na knihe Dragons of Autumn Twilight (Draci podzimního soumraku). Príbeh je o 8 hrdinoch putujúcich ruinami mesta Xak Tsaroth, kde musia čeliť prastarému drakovi Khisanthovi a získať artefakt Disks of Mishakal. Hra svojim štýlom zobrazenia pripomína 2D akčnú plošinovku...
